Clown79
Well I believe I have pox on my zoas. Originally thought it was just detritus but nope, I have white spots on them and the colonies have shrunk. Anyone have any tips on what I can do to save them? Would fresh water dip work? Link to comment
NYfishies
Hi there, I suggest using Furan-2 and following the below instructions carefully (scroll down a bit). http://www.reef2reef.com/threads/dipping-zoanthairans.40552/ In addition with the frags OUTSIDE of your tank you can "pop" the pox and sort of knock them off. I have done this many times as well. They should be fine after a week or so! Link to comment
VstyLe09
I dipped mines for 20 mins for 3 days with betadine when I had zoa pox few weeks ago that resolved it Link to comment
Newstead
Furan-2 worked for me as well. Link to comment

No fresh water dip will not kill it at all. Do you have pictures ? Also two methods one is dip in saltwater melafix and the furan-2 works well too. Just do in a separate bucket and dip them for time it says. I do a couple times for a couple days Link to comment
Clown79
Thank you all. I'm pretty sure its pox. White spots, doesn't go away when blown with turkey baster, closed up zoas and some have melted away. I'll try to get a pic Link to comment

lkoechle
I did hydrogen peroxide to get rid of the pox. I had lost most of the colony at that point and I'm sorry I didn't do it sooner. Link to comment
Clown79
Really. That worked? Nowhere online has anyone mentioned the use of peroxide. I'm glad it worked and will try it if the problem arises again. Thank you Link to comment
