Aquamaxx HOB-1 - The front retaining plate on the mounting bracket broke loose when I dropped it while cleaning it. It was professionally repaired by the acrylic guys at MaxReef in Bridgeport, CT. They welded two acrylic reinforcement plates to each mount support. The repair is seamless. If I didn't say it was repaired, you probably wouldn't have noticed. Here is a shot of the repair.

 

Here I am holding up the entire skimmer by the repaired plate with two fingers.

 

Here's a video of it running and bubbling away on my BioCube before wrapping it in bubble wrap for shipping.

Aquaticlife 115 - Used for 2 1/2 months... like new. Has the airline mod and the outflow adjustment extension knob mod. I do weekly 5 gallon water changes in my BioCube so I've decided to go skimmerless.

 

Danner Mag 7 pump - comes with original pre-filter fitting and sponge. Also comes with additional plumbing connector and barb fitting for flex hose. Used for 8 months, then broke down the tank. It's been in storage since.

Do you think the aquatic life skimmer would be helpful for a 40B with a few seahorses?

Honestly, I think it'd unfortunately be too undersized. You're of course more than welcome to try it! However, I think the Aquamaxx HOB-1 would be a perfect fit for a tank of that size.
