Got my spectrapure unit

http://spectrapure.com/RO-RODI/RODI-SYSTEMS/Aquarium-RO-DI-Starter%20Kit-Includes-RODI-System-Replacement-Filter%20Kit-TDS%20Meters-Chlorine-Test-Kit

Started hooking it up. I'm on a well, regulator set for 40 - 60 pounds. Seems I'm only getting 35 - 45 pounds at the unit.

I believe I'm going to have to get a booster pump, looking at this one from BRS

Recommendations?

Tested my TDS of tap it's 157

Product water is 0

I did not want the waste water going in my septic, therefore I ran a line to the basement sump. It's about a 13 foot drop. Do I have to be concerned with siphoning? Also with that drop will it pull more waste water due to the 13 foot drop?

The instruction made no reference to adjusting the flow restrictor, do I need to adjust the flow?

This is my first experience with ro/di units.

I was really torn between this unit and the BRS unit. Hope I made the right decision.

Thanks,

There is no comparison between BRS and Spectrapure, you made the right decision.

At 45 psi you should be fine with only 157 TDS. I wouldn't invest in a booster pump until you try it for awhile. If you do decide to buy a booster don't even consider anything other than an Aquatec 8800 series pump, they are number one for a reason. Anything else will cost you more in the long run almost guaranteed.

Pages 6-10 or so in every Spectrapure owners manual walks you through measuring and adjusting your waste ratio if needed.

Thanks for the info

The manual has no reference to at all to adjusting the waste water... very strange.

Pressure at the filter is currently 36 pounds.
