POLL - I still cant get the polls to work.

question if money wasn't an option would you use more than 1 MP10 in your 30 gallon or less and why?

I'll have two on my 20 long once I get around to ordering a new wet frame for the second.

I'd say if money was no object, maybe like 4 wireless all synched up to get a wide variety of flow. 2 on either end and 2 on the back.

Same. As soon as I get the funds I am getting a second for my 20l. One is not enough to reach the other side reliably.

Would 1 MP40 be a better choice than multiple MP10s?

I just ordered a MP40 for my Reefer 170, display is around 34 gallons. I talked to BRS and the MP40 sounded like a better choice to get wider flow with only one powerhead in the tank.

Should be fine. Did you get the QD? Ecotech improved the flow on those significantly.

  • 2 weeks later...

the results seem pretty wide spread... I think I will add a second one to my tank. one left one right...

reason behind this...

Wife and I are saving for a reefer 350.

going to buy 2 MP40wQD... one left one right.

I will put each mp10wQD on the back left and back right. that should make for some gyre effect with the reeflink app.

I've got 2 MP10 wQDs facing each other on opposite walls in my BioCube 29 running in anti sync mode. I use a ReefLink to ramp the pumps up and down in intensity and different modes based on my lighting schedule to simulate a day / night effect.

Not sure why the numbers in the app are a little off but essentially, following my lighting schedule...

12:00am to 8:30 am - Lagoon - 20%

8:30am to 10:00am - Lagoon - 35%

10:00am to 1pm - Reef Crest - 40%

1pm to 7:30pm - Reef Crest - 50%

7:30pm to 10:30pm - Reef Crest - 40%

10:30pm to 12:00am - Lagoon - 35%

I'm still cycling, so this all could change dependent upon how my livestock will react when I get to that point.
