ps2cho
I have a frag tank that is 24 x 24 x 7 or about 18 gallons. I am struggling to see how I can plumb the return section since its pretty small... I bought a 1/2" bulkhead and bend that turns it into a hose adapter, but it doesn't leave much room. Also I need a return pump that will provide me good flow, while staying really small to fit in. How should I do this? I know more people run small nano's here that might have experience. jestep
I'd go with a threaded bulkhead and use a 1/2 threaded locline adapter on the tank side of the output. Another thing you can do is cut the bulkhead in half so there aren't as many threads. There's no reason you need a full inch or so of threads on something like this where pressure isn't an issue. As long as there are enough threads that the bulkhead nut can attach without slipping, you're fine. What's the actual dimensions of the pump chamber? I'd say something like a MJ600 or MJ900, but you'll need to make sure there's enough room. Link to comment
ps2cho
Ok I plugged in a MJ1200 today and it was way too fast. The overflow couldn't keep up with it, so I am guessing a MJ600 which is about 150gph / 10x turnover should be enough. Link to comment
