Clowns and flow

Recommended Posts

I have two 3/4" Clowns.

I have the stock biocube 1100 Circ pump

I have 2 Korilia 565 powerheads.

The clowns seem to struggle a little.

I turned one of the PH off and they seem a little better... BUT they still gravitate toward the PH and swim into it.

Is that amount of flow ok for my clowns?

I have nothing else in the tank at the time.

Not sure on your specific equipment, but I have had clowns for a couple weeks now and they are basically soccer player. Constantly faking it. I turn all the pumps off when I spot feed my coral and they still look "very active". But when food hits the tank for them with max flow on the tank, they rocket towards it not a problem. As long as you have some spots that are slower, like under the PH or behind a rock, IMO they should be fine. Just make sure they aren't pinned to the glass.

oh no no they are not pinned on the glass. they do zoom out to get a bite to eat. just looks like they swim super aggressive while the pump is running.
