vlangel
Wow, I am really interested in this build since I also love and have seahorses! That is a fascinating start. I am guessing that you glued or siliconed sand onto PVC pipe? The ponies should love hitching to that. You and your wife have apparently done your homework since you have both a chiller and skimmer in your equipment list. What specie of seahorses are you thinking of and how many? Will you include macro algae and live coral or are you planning on using artificial plants and ornaments? If you have any questions on seahorses I will be glad to help. Link to comment
jamescstein
Silicone on PVC yes. Hopefully it will stick well. Horses will be Hippocampus barbouri male and female. Wife wants to try and breed them. There will be macro algae, as well as gorgonian's. There will also be fake plants and things for color as well. Link to comment
HarryPotter
BRS has a video showing seahorse a loving a plastic chain of sorts, that would be pretty cool. Honestly the first thing that came to my mind with that is a seahorse "playground"! Looks great and nice to see more seahorses on NR! Link to comment
Sunstar
I am excited to watch your build. I laughed when I saw your pipes. I think the little ponies will enjoy that. Good luck with them. I always wanted them, but right now, not possible. Link to comment

I am having good luck with dragon's breath, rose petal and red grape caulerpa for colored macro algae. Also I have not found them invasive yet they grow well enough to be a good nutrient export. I like the green color of halimeda but that is calcareous so needs enough CA to grow. I dose CA, alk and magnesium along with my water changes. Mushrooms and easy corals like cabbage leather can be nice additions too. Link to comment

jamescstein
First horse has arrived. Was supposed to be a pair but BlueZoo only had one, despite the fact that after a phone call they supposedly had 4. Another will be coming along soon they say. He is still in QT but eating mysis like a pig. Link to comment
