charliethezero
I am one of the worst at keeping threads/journals for my tanks. I'm hoping I can keep this one up to date. So far this tank is my favorite. April 5th update: I'm horrible with threads. The macros have taken over. Nps and lion were moved to the 75. Equipment: Standard 15 gallon derimmed Cheap led light (really want a nanobox) Sunsun 402b canister filter Hydor 200w inline heater Livestock: Purple firefish 3 sexy shrimp (adding more soon) 4 pom pom crabs Red mangroves Macros 2 Rock flower anemones (adding 5 or 10 VIP pack) A squamosa clam I'm sticking with minimal equipment and massive water changes. BRN
nice tank man, frogfish will be awesome! Link to comment
Orangutran
That's cool how you have a "pot" in there!! It's almost like a drop off tank! How deep is the sand in the top section? Link to comment
charliethezero
Thank you guys. Definitely looking forward to the frogfish. I also think a dwarf lion would look nice in there, make an over-hang on the side of the "pot " for it to hide under, but it's only 15 gallons. I'll have to build another tank for one later down the line. The "pot" has 8 inches of sand in it. I definitely need more macro and a larger variety. And plan on ordering a few different sponges very soon too. Link to comment

charliethezero
I never thought about it acting like a dsb. It would be great if it did. I just ordered a clean up crew from reef cleaners, should be here Friday. I did the 15 gallon pack so all the extras with be spread through out my other tanks. Link to comment
charliethezero
So my clean-up crew is delayed in transit so instead of Friday it will hopefully be here Monday. Really hoping the snails and mangroves make it alive. Link to comment
aquarium
Snails are pretty tough, I wouldn't worry. I love the frogfish idea as well. What kind of light are you using? is it just sunlight? Link to comment
Halo_003
That is a sweet tank, love it. Link to comment
charliethezero
I have added a tiny four striped damsel for now just to get the tank used to livestock. Definitely not a large bioload especially compared to a frog fish but it's something. Also added a few more corals, mangroves, and a diy glass bottle protein skimmer. It's working but I want to find a longer one as this one is very short. Sorry, the light is just a plant bulb over the mangroves. I want to upgrade the lights for them just don't know what to, if anyone has any suggestions that would be great. Link to comment
Mkidd
You can always get a par30 or par38 if you're on a budget. (: you can angle and hang them anywhere. Nice tank, it's looking really great (: Link to comment
ajmckay
+1 liking the tank! The mangroves look cool coming out of the rock. I also like the stocking list. It's really looking great. I suppose my only thought would be to move the pump to the other side? Seems like it sort of distracts from the nice looking rock work. Link to comment
charliethezero
I do have a par 38 over the tank, I could get another if that's enough for the mangroves. I'll get a picture of the light setup, it's half way done. Another picture after adding a new gorg. I'm hoping to grow macro on the pump soon, I'm not the biggest fan of equipment floating on the glass. I could try it on the other side though. Link to comment
charliethezero
The lights are hanging from a soon to be shelf. I also have to rehang a picture to the left of it. Link to comment
charliethezero
I ended up buying a baby dwarf fuzzy for this tank. I was looking for a dwarf for my 75 so this works perfectly since he's way too small to put in there now. This lion fish is maybe an inch and gets lost in the 15 gallon. Still planning on a frog fish for this tank just will have to wait till this tiny guy can move with the big boys. Sorry for the poor phone pictures and attachments. Link to comment
ajmckay
I demand an FTS. And a shot showing the mangroves. Cool dwarf lion btw! Reminds me of the tiny geometric perchlet I just got that's in QT - granted those stay tiny... Link to comment
charliethezero
It's been quite a while. We moved over half a year ago. This tank and my 75 were the only tanks that made the move over, plus my 4 year old's 55 freshwater). I would love to add more macro soon and have been eyeing blue scroll and dragons breath. I also plan on putting in an order from VIP for a pack of rock flowers, haven't decided on the amount yet though. The light is doing fine but I really want a nanobox and am on the lookout for one, just don't know what size I would need. I really like more daylight vs blue. Link to comment
Christopher Marks
Welcome back @charliethezero! The dense macro algae on the top left is really cool. A few more rock flower anemones will really finish it off nicely. Link to comment
