Joe37
Are these whelks or nassarius snails? I have three and they don't dig in the sand just hang out on the rocks or glass. If they are whelks will they eat snails or corals? Link to comment
dadummy
looks like a whelk, hard to see the opening, and don't know the correct terminology for it. The whelk and nassarius have a different opening. Plus the Nassarius usually burry in the sand and whelks not so much. Google search Nassarius Vibex that is what you want, see if they match up. I have collected Nassarius and sometimes a whelk gets mixed in with the bunch. They will attack and kill a snail. Anytime I would see one on the rock it was usually a whelk Link to comment
Joe37
I have nassarius vibex and they are definitely different, I put a vibex and one these next to each other and the vibex just glided over the sand while the other one was struggling to crawl on the sand Link to comment
