Started my first pico reef tank and I haven't done saltwater for 10years. Well I have to say looking at the beauty of all the corals in my small but active reef is amazing there are things that you seem not to notice in the bigger reefs that I see up close now.

It's a 6.25gallon tank with 5lbs of sand 7lbs of live rock and a canister filter with a china aqua Mars 165w light and a RW4 wave maker after all the rock there's probably only 4gallons total with the canister filter.

I would love to start a pico... Have you had trouble keeping parameters in check?

So I'm not going to lie haven't ever checked. I have seen a alge boom right after I fed the tank the stomach contents of a muscle. But I haven't fed it in a week and the alge dosent show up on the glass within the same day. so it seems to be stable. I try to change the water every cupel of days one cup is all!!! Seems to be workin I have a blasto and montie the seem to be growing and getting bigger so must be doing good! I just keep a eye on it is all.
