Oneslowsaleen
Ok so two days ago I tested my waters parameters Temp-78 PH-8.2 Salinity-1.025 Alkalinity-8 Nitrate-20 Nitrite-.02 Ammonia-0 Phosphate-.03 Calcium-440 Magnesium-1380 I figured my nitrate, nitrite, and phosphates are up because of heavy feedings of a sun coral that I am trying to revive. So I did a 6 gallon water change ( I have 29g BC) , I usually do 3 gallon. I also vacuumed the sand bed. After I did the WC my nitrates drop to 10, nitrites and phosphate-0 , alk. Remained 8. After that I was comfortable moving my first fish ( white spotted Pygmy filefish ) from QT tank into the main tank. Everything was fine till next morning I woke up to a cloudy tank , which I believe is bacterial growth. How do I go about solving this problem? My set up and live stock 30 lb live rock, 20 lb live sand (Carib sea black Hawaiian), chamber 1 fuge , chamber 2 Intank media basket(filter floss, Chemi-pure, and purigen), tunze 9001 skimmer, tunze ATO. 7 zoas, fat head Dendro, sun coral, candy cane, flower pot which are all doing amazing, than a GSP that's not doing well I think it's cause my hermits like to dance on him. 10 snails, 10 hermits, lettuce nudibranch, pistol shrimp all doing well White spotted Pygmy file fish How do I go about clearing up my water ? And how often should I change the chemi-pure and purigen? I change filter floss when I do WC. Link to comment
Wretched
Filter floss for me, dirtied every other day. I changed that frequently due to it becoming a nitrate factor. You can be experiencing bacterial flocks, or precipitation. It'll subside on it's own once precipitated or bacteria settles. Give it time, and continue with water changes. Reduce feedings, IMO. Overdosing anything in my display is a big no no. Time my friend. Keep up with the changes as well. When I had my JBJ 45RL and I ran chemipure/purigen. I changed it every 6 weeks, some people agree more/less. That's what I did, and it worked great. Link to comment
