pokerdobe
Is it possible to keep a trio of anthias (of the smaller variety) in the reefer 250? I've been looking hard into Bartlett's and Carberryi anthias as they seem to stay smaller compared to their cousins. If possible, which of the two is considered hardier? Are there other smaller anthias I should consider? I am aware of their need to have pristine water and multiple feedings and I am prepared to deal with that. Thanks in advance! Link to comment
sangheili
The Bartletts will have much better color then the Carberryi in my experience. Unless you get a good specimen they can look very bland in comparison. Link to comment
davy jones
I'm going to get a trio of lyre tails in mine, but I'm keeping the aqua scape very open for swimming room. But just cause I'm trying it doesn't mean it's the right thing lol just giving my .02 Link to comment
Orangutran
Not sure if others have experienced this, but anthias can be jumpers. Everyone talks about tank sizes and heavy feeding, but no one mentions jumping. Just google anthias and jumpers. My dispar jumped when I forgot to put my lid back on… speaking of which, maybe consider dispars too, they're a great fish! Link to comment

I have two clowns and two mandarins in my Nuvo 20 waiting to be transferred, but I wanted to get the anthias first to get them comfortable. I was going to put it off, but I guess I'll have to make a screen cover now. Link to comment

My male Lyretail (the captain of the tank) frequently splashes water in my face when I drop food in. At night he is often the only fish awake and just patrolling around the tank while everyone else sleeps (prob 20 other fish). Link to comment

bdevillier19
i currently have the following in my 4' 60 gallon 2 lyretail females 1 bimaculatus male with his 3 females the bimaculatus are by far my favorite. and before people say the tank is too small for them, i know, but im about a month away from my 125 gallon and the deal that was offered on the bimaculatus was impossible to say no to. once the 125 is up i might add another pair of anthias of a different type.
