blizzardscout2
Hello everyone, I am considering using Kalkwasser in my ATO as my dKH typically is low before a weekly WC. I have seen a lot of people recommend just sticking to WCs instead of dosing. I know having as little change in parameters as possible makes for a successful reef; so I figured that Kalkwasser would stabilize one more parameter in my system. Any thoughts? Reese Link to comment
Nano sapiens
Works just fine. I prefer to use a saturated solution of kalkwasser (mix the Kalk with reef-safe water well, wait 2-3 days, then siphon off the clear saturated liquid only) that I add to my gravity fed ATO along with RO/DI water. You'll need figure out your tank's usage to determint the ratio that will keep your alk stable. Link to comment
VW_TDI_02
I use kalk in my ATO. It was actually pretty easy to set up. I started slow with about 1 teaspoon in my 5 gallon ATO reservoir. I'm now up to 4 teaspoons of kalk powder in my reservoir. I test the tank every now and then to see if I need to step up my dosing or if that's enough. Link to comment
