foxngn
Hi guys, all this while I been using marina breeding box(http://usa.hagen.com/Aquatic/Misc.-Accessories/Breeders--Salt--Silicone/10941) as my Refugium to my display tank. So my question is how to ensure those pod inside the breeding box able to flow in to my display tank ? Link to comment
seabass
You don't need to do anything. Some will naturally find their way into the display though the overflow. Link to comment

seabass
Do you feel that a small refugium will be enough to feed a dragonet? Link to comment
Paleoreef103
Small refugiums are generally not enough to keep a dragonet long term. I know they're pretty, but they're legitimately difficult animals to keep thriving. You either need a big tank or a constant supply of pods. That breeder box wouldn't be able to keep a dragonet alive even moderate term. What size tank do you have? How long has your tank been established? Are you willing to have bottles of pods constantly being shipped in to feed your dragonet? Are you willing to spending a good deal of time training one to eat frozen foods from a feeder while constantly hatching live food until it finally starts taking frozen food? Do you have tankmates that aren't going to be competing with it for pods? Keep in mind that a dragonet can easily depopulate a 40 breeder of pods and I've seen them starving in a 90 gallon tank as well.If you're really serious about this here is a good starter for keeping a mandarin: http://www.melevsreef.com/node/719Keep in mind that this guy is an advanced aquarist who sets up these feeding stations in several hundred gallon tanks to keep a total of four mandarins because his several hundred gallon tank does not support his animals without it.
