Recommended Posts

Hello all. I've posted here and there about my failures in this hobby, but this is my prized possession now. The coral came from my 5 gallon and survived moving through three different tanks and has finally arrived here. This thread is made to chronicle my journey to my dream tank. A 40G. Follow along with me!

Onyx snowflake clown
Black clown
Tailspot blenny
Hawaiian Feather duster
Red fromia star
Pair of Neon hybrid sharknose gobies! (will be replaced with a bonded pair)

Neon green candy canes
Duncan
Hammer
War Coral
Pompom xenia
And one unidentified coral.

Good news! In a few days I'll be moving somewhere with actual internet and we'll be able to update everyone more frequently! Also, is that Mr. Fason I see in my future?

BETTER NEWS! The fish survived the move! Will post pictures tomorrow while the lights are on.

Okay, update time!

Not much has changed in the tank except for the rockwork and placement of coral. BTA has to go, I believe. It's hurting my war coral and looks like it's not doing too hot anyway. Probably because of my terrible light.

The female clown is being hosted by the featherduster!

Next plan is to get my water changing station set up on the porch and then to buy a new batch of salt. Probably hw-marinemix. Been hearing WONDERS about that salt. After that, I'll begin upgrading my light with the assistance of Mr. Fason.

Nice tank! I have a snow onyx clown as well and they are gorgeous. Great choice :) I am feeling that feather duster too. That is making me want to get one!

Okay, so here's a little update that some of you might be able to help me with.

1. Feather duster has disappeared. No body or feathers laying anywhere. Maybe retracted into the tube and won't come out?

2. Duncan coral is permanently shriveled. I did notice some white spots on it's sides that look like maybe it's growing new heads?

Anyway, here's a picture of my wonderful clown pair.

Know of them or know where to get them?

Monticaps, monti digis (any montiporas really)and birds are all pretty forgiving SPS.

You could also try psammacora if you want something encrusting

I just needed some recommendations on what might be the easiest to test out.

Soon the girlfriend and I will be making the first push to our new tank! The 10G will be turned into a frag tank with the IM shelves, and our Current USA light will serve it until I can replace that.

Currently saving funds for a Nanobox Duo.

I don't really care for the duncan photo, but it's whatever.

Plans for the upgrade are now as follows;

Mr. Aqua 60 gallon cube with Nanobox Duo

20 gallon refugium plumbed directly to it with the more aggressive species of fish and macro algae
