Murphs_Reef
So I want to pop the hood off my tank, I have a piece of Perspex cut to size and cables holes drilled. Do I have to cut out other vent holes to help keep temp stable or will it be ok? I hav noticed in the summer months my heater only comes on for short bursts and not to frequent to maintain the 27 degree C... Or an I over thinking it? Link to comment
seabass
Does it have exposed filter chambers or a HOB filter, or a skimmer that would allow gas exchange? The thing that I've found with most thin sheet acrylic is that it tends to warp. I hope yours holds up for you. Link to comment

seabass
I'd recommend adding a HOB skimmer for gas exchange. This will improve oxygen levels and help prevent low pH due to high CO2 levels. Plus, it will remove dissolved organics from the water column. Link to comment
