So I'm looking for advise as to calcium and alk. But first I will give a brief description of my tank I'm running a 24g aquapod hqi in which I swapped the light for an ai prime it's running berry heavy filtration with a Kent marine media reactor about 40-50 lbs of live rock maxi jet 1200 return pump with 2 jabeo rw4s live stock consists of roughly 2 blue geodons (spelling) 2 scissor tails 2 purple fire fish 1 start blenny 1 scooter blenny 1 maderian 2 yasha gobies 1 Smith's Kenny and 2 fairy wrasse coral consists of roughly 75 sps corals 20 lps corals and 200 ish zoas a leather and several others I know that I'm forgetting tanks been running fully stocked for about 2 years all my parameters are right on cue with what I desire except my biggest nemesis calcium and alkalinity I change about 2.5 gallons once a week and they hit about 480 cal 8.2 alk 1 day later I'm at roughly 420 cal and 7.6 alk I dose Kent super buffer dkh and get back to 8.0 alk and dose Salifert reef complete and get to 480 cal and so on through out the week if I don't dose it gets much worse is there anything I can do or dose to keep more stable throughout the week and from dayd to day

I'm not exactly an expert, but I find it very odd that calcium is dropping that quickly. For calcium carbonate deposition (biotic or not) its something like 20ppm calcium to every 1meq/l of alkalinity. With that small of a drop in alkalinity in relation to the drop in calcium I'd be more suspect of testing factors.

As far as stability goes, a doser with either 2 part or kalkwasser tuned into your tanks usage should keep it very stable.

It could be consumption. However, test the magnesium level just to make sure that calcium and alkalinity are not precipitating out of suspension.

That does seem high, a few teaspoons of water to fill the tank

He should trade in some of that rock for English lessons... That punctuation though :wacko::blink::slap:

I have a 24 gallon too - I would not imagine how to get in 14 fishes in there, 75 SPS , 200 zoa in there for 45 or live rock. I doubt i will have space 2.5 gallon of water and for that matter keep anything alive in there...
