Tommy G
Could somebody please tell me whats up with morph pictured. Been in my tank for three weeks, everything seemed fine, got home yesterday to find some white string curling up out of its mouth, 24 hours later the whole centre of it has demised and is now breaking away from outer circle, the foot of the coral is almost lifting up through the centre yet the outer edge looks healthy and colourfull, obviously very shrivled up as well. All water para,s spot on. I've never seen one split like this, it doesn't look healthy. First time on this forum, tank is an ocean free 96 Litre. Link to comment
Tommy G
The centre is almost fully detached now. Once it is the outer part which looks fine will float around unless I do something to keep it down to try and re grow. This has all taken place within 30hrs, was fully expanded before then. Is it a split ! A bacterial / fungi or parasite ! Link to comment
Guits
I've had the center of a ricordea florida necrose with the peripheral tissue remaining intact and it eventually grew back even though the mouth melted away. I've also had this happen to a St Thomas mushroom but sadly it just completely melted away. Link to comment
Tommy G
I took it out last night before bed australian time , didnt want the risk of it floating up into wave maker and getting chomped into a hundred peices and making a mess, I dont know what to put it down to except I had done a water change 48 hours prior to it happening, I live near the coast so i use NSW, water all tests good and everything else is okay ! Mushrooms / morphs considered very tough so seems odd. Thanks for reply Guits Link to comment
