Quieter Return Pump for 14g

Looking to find a quieter return pump for my 14g AIO. Right now it has a ViaAqua 360 on it. I bought the setup used and was cleaning the pump today in a bucket of water and plugged it in to check it out and it's quite loud. It doesn't sit on the bottom of the tank, the tubing connecting it to the elbow going into the bulkhead was cut short. From what I've found its rated at 153gph, could I get away with a bigger pump? I have a skimmer in the middle compartment in the back also.

I have a Tunze Silence 1073.008 in my NUVO Fusion 10, it's a 210 gph pump and very silent. It fits in the back chamber of my 10g, so I imagine it would fit into the chamber on your tank.

There's 3.5" in the back. The 360 doesn't come close to filling it up. I'll have to check that Tunze out. That sounds like a much better GPH to me.

With 3.5" width in the back, you can go up to a Sicce Syncra 3.0 return pump which can have 700 gph. Probably overkill for your tank, a Syncra 0.5 or 1.0 would probably work better for you with 185gph or 251gph respectively. Just showing that you have lots of options to choose from if you have 3.5" in the back.

If you feel like trusting Jebao (which might be a little iffy), you can get a DC2000 return pump which is really quiet. Adjustable flow rate of 240 gph to 530gph, potentially controllable via APEX. I just ordered a DC1200 to put into a 10 gallon AIO, but I have a Syncra 1.0 cached in a drawer as a backup.

Well I don't want something huge. I am going to put a Tunze 6040 in there and try it out too. So I might be better off just going with a quieter pump near the same GPH.

I also don't know if I put a higher GPH return pump if the skimmer would be able to keep up or if the pump would empty the third chamber. I am not sure what be as the skimmer is. The tank is a custom acrylic so I don't know if the skimmer was custom made or bought.

Here's what the rear looks like. The bio balls are already in the trash.
