My BTA moved after I did a 50 % water change on my 6 gallon.

Then I noticed it spit out some small saliva looking thing for a second.

It's foot doesn't look like its fully attached.

Is there anything wrong with it? I don't want it to start dying and decaying my tank.

Thanks. I'm worried!

The gunk it spat out is poop if brown and mucous if paler. They poop when they need to and produce excess mucous when stressed.

Did you heat your water to match tank temp before you did you 50% change, did you check salinity and pH was equal before you did it? If not you probably pissed it off and it decide to go walkies, its still looking for a new home.

Be careful with large water changes, rush them and you can shock your tank badly.

You lights look a bit dim what are you using? Other than that it looks fine.

Yea the water might be off a bit when I did the water change. The light is only temporary. I'm getting a 165 watt Mars Aqua led light soon.

So other than that, it looks ok? I'm concerned that the foot isn't lodged tightly on the rock.

It'll settle down when it find a spot it likes. most likely the worst spot int he tank lol. This would actually be a great time to peel it off the rock. Get a piece of 2" tubing, coat it in super glue and then in sand and gravel, close one end with a n end cap or rock if possible. Then when its dry, put the nems foot in the tube. it should absolutely love it and anchor its foot in the tube. This way you offer it a perfect home whilst keeping it movable should you need to. Last thing you want is to wake up in a month to have the nem is a completely invisible spot of stinging everything in the tank.

Put it in a tube on the sand bed until you get the tubing,he'll survive.

You pissed it off doing the water change. looks fine to me. when the basal disc inflates like that, it usually means they are about to move around.
