Draco
So I have a pair of aggressive clowns in my 29 gal cube. They're so aggressive, that I can't stick my hand in the tank to do what I need to do. They'd bite and hit me over and over.. they've actually broken skin, and I didn't even know that was possible! They just recently got brave enough to attack me. Any ideas how I can control them long enough for me to adhere corals down? I can't net them since they're just too fast. I couldn't even secure my new frags fast enough. I don't like wearing gloves because I can't feel what I am doing. any suggestions? Link to comment
Thomas898
Have you tried distracting them with food? When I'm cleaning the glass and go near any of the corals that my clowns host, female goes crazy and attacks my hand until it's out of the tank. If I feed them they're too busy stuffing their faces to care what else is going on and I'm free to go about my business. Link to comment
Draco
I can try to feed them. I have a scheduled feeding so I didn't think about trying that Link to comment
Kijho
It's very common clownfish behavior to become defensive and territorial of the aquarium from YOU !! It's a good sign that they're "paired" I believe.. protecting each other. Link to comment
Draco
Paired is a good thing! maybe I should put a small terra cotta pot in the back for them. lol Link to comment
CJJon
Bigger tank would probably help. Just sayin. Other than that, not much you can do when they get like that. The entire take has been claimed and they don't like nobody monkeyin wit it! Link to comment
Draco
If money wasn't an issue, I'd SO get a bigger tank! lol Link to comment
yomon347
Maybe try squirting water hard at them with a turkey baster until they hide. I have to fight off my tomato to feed my nem. The turkey baster use to work, now my tomato dodges the water blasts and attacks the baster and splashes water all over the place. It's both annoying and amusing. Link to comment
Draco
they allowed me to fix the frags tonight that didn't adhere in my haste from last night. They did nip at me a few times, but it wasn't a battle like it was last night. It was nuts how they went after me yesterday! Maybe it was bad timing? I don't know. but Im glad the frags are now firmly in place! Link to comment
Reef Hollister
I have a pair that are so bad I have to resort to putting them in a "time out" container when I'm working in the tank. They have developed a hatred-fear-respect for the net, however. Link to comment

If your Clown hosted the nem, let the clown feed it. This is very "Normal" behavior of clown fish, my false perc does the same thing as other owners of clowns I know have witnessed this behavior. It's actually kind of funny when you think about it Link to comment
Draco
They left me alone yesterday when I had to fix a fallen frag. But they were watching and tempted, lol. Damned things.. but yes, it is amusing when you think about it! it was a good laugh to share the story with my other reef friends Link to comment
