jedimasterben Posted May 4, 2015 Share Posted May 4, 2015 6x24 will be more than enough for a 36" tank, unless you're planning wall to wall SPS. 24" bulbs will allow you to keep LPS corals with low light tolerance on the ends of the tank. Link to comment

I am planning 2 small islands of SPS only and then clams in between the islands. Top it off with random acans and frog, octo I have near the sides. Link to comment

IMHO with the LEDs in there it is way overkill unless your tank is double the height that yours is. You'll already be pushing 400 PAR on-center and not much less than that until you get past the length of the T5. (depending on how many arrays you go with. I would personally go with four - T5/LED/T5/T5/LED/T5 just like my and Kat's setups) Link to comment

Not a fan of deep tanks anyway so don't think I'll ever own a tank taller than 18" so I will stick with the 6x24. You digging the new Giesemann bulbs these days over ATI Ben? Link to comment

Slightly different spectrum (and I mean slightly) and almost identical output. Good bulbs from either brand. Link to comment
