aviator300
I just received my new Duo today and have a couple questions about the hanging kit. I figured out how to mount the top of the cable but it's where the cable attaches to the light that puzzles me. Do i just cut the cable to the length i want and then loosen the gripper nuts (which are mounted on the light), stick the wire end in as far as it will go and re-tighten? Am i missing something? What keeps the cable from slipping back out and dropping the light. Also, i'm worried that the gripper lock nut (which is evidently on the inside of the light case) will fall off into the light if i loosen the grips too much and once i trim and mount the cable, how do i adjust the light up and down again? Sorry for my ignorance but i've never dealt with this type hanging kit before. Link to comment
CJJon
Cut the wire very clean and insert it into the fitting. It is like a drill chuck of sorts. Insert the wire and loosen until you feel it drop in, then insert and tighten. It's a friction fitting. I suggest using some thread lock if you don't plan to move or adjust anytime soon. A helper is good to have. Link to comment

CJJon
Wrap tightly in tape before you cut it. Use good sharp tool to cut. You could also tin the end too with solder if you have the ability. Actually, tin a section first where you want the cut to be then cut it after it cools. Sandpaper to clean up to fit. Link to comment
aviator300
I actually dripped candle wax on the area to be cut. worked great. Link to comment
DaveFason
Thanks for helping CJ! Forrest - I like to measure where I want to cut then dip. The grommet loosens slightly and then you simply push down and will open teeth. Insert wire and then tighten back down. I'll add photos when I get back in town. Link to comment
