Does anyone know what type of LED's are in Reefbrite's XHO?

Always used to be Edison Opto ES series LEDs. But then again, they are in generic packages, so they could be almost anything at this point. Reason I say that they are most likely Edison ES series is that we (Nanocustoms, before we went belly up) used the same strips in our products back in the day.

They are better than your no-name Chinese lottery LEDs, but they still aren't Cree or Philips. They still work though.

Do you think they put out more PAR than a pair of 24" Blue+ t5's? Currently, I am running a 400w Radium with a pair of 24" Blue+ t5's. I was thinking about swapping out the t5's for the RB"s but I'm not so sure if I want to give up my t5's. Any advice would be appreciated!

Reefbrite was at MAX two weeks ago. Went to their booth because they had a par meter on their lights so interest was peaked. PAR in the 600 range but then I saw that they are just China specials blue and white. Look to be something like 10K white and royal blue. I asked the lady if they had other lights that were full spectrum and she looked at me with a straight face and said "our lights are full spectrum". Was about to reply and more likely get into it with her but just decided to nod, smile, and walk away.

While PAR may be similar, the spectrum won't be the same. Whether that's important to you is up for discussion. I guess it's really dependent on what you want to get from the Reefbrite strips.

Technically, Joy wasn't wrong. If there is a white LED, all wavelengths in the visible spectrum are represented, technically making it "full spectrum". What we understand as full spectrum is a little different. Really, it should be called "balanced spectrum". Either way, they don't have what you are looking for. BML would be a better choice for that kind of setup.

Now, when you say "PAR in the 600 range", at what distance, what strip, and how many?

I suppose I'm looking for real color out of my acros, not perceived color or "fake" color from the LED's. Which lights, t5's or LED's do you think would give me the most color out of my acros?

A shitload of high-CRI warm white lol, but that won't look very blue and would muddle any fluorescent colors if you used too much.

The tank was a 2ft long and looked to be ~16" high. The light was hanging another 8 inches or so from top of tank. The 600 PAR was smack dab in the middle of the tank in the center of the rock where most would put corals. This was the light.

Too blue for my tastes though. I prefer a really crisp white light.

This. Spot on. Full spectrum doesn't mean 2-3 ultra narrow wavelength range color diodes. White light is full spectrum. The term is horribly misused and misleading, much like "UV" is when referring to violet diodes

Not nessessarilly true. I can create white light with a simple rbg emmiter setup and miss a vast majority of the visible light spectrum.

Just a single strip? Seems way too high for that.

No it was the one in the picture on the top with the 5 strip arc.

Ok, that makes more sense. Chris from Nanocustoms actually made the first version of the bracket for them when we went to RAP back in the day.
