llama roadkill
Hey everyone. I'm looking to build a rock mag for some plating monti's I'm get soon. Like this, but much smaller. http://premiumaquatics.com/products/rock-mag.html?gclid=Cj0KEQjw6tepBRDLqLnxouaY_pkBEiQAPIOiBs7g8fFVS6EPO-4jRXADcrrxb00GX7LVSrWItNu_ozIaAmQE8P8HAQ What type of magnet should I use? I've heard rubber-coated neodymium magnets work, as they won't rust. Anyone have experience with these magnets, or have even built one themselves? - Jacob Link to comment
Tamberav
The cheap coated magnets on amazon, ect have a very very thin coating that scratches easily. These however are great: http://www.bulkreefsupply.com/oceans-wonders-n52-v2-mag-rack-replacement-magnets.html Link to comment
CJJon
I use ceramic magnets that I wrap in rescue tape. Well, one is wrapped, the other is not. They don't rust. Link to comment
cromag27
Ceramic are reef safe. and yes, neo in rubber are reef safe as well. but if the rubber punctures, then they will no longer be reef safe. Link to comment
