drill_meister
Sorry, but since I am a complete novice at electrical installations, I want to have the easiest upgrade to install on my Coral Life BC 29. I dont want to solder anything and I want to keep the drilling and cutting of the hood to a minimum. From what I have read, Steves seems to be a popular one. How much work is involved in the 99% complete kit? Thanks and I apologize for any redundant questions. My corals would appreciate the advice. Link to comment
Fluffeh
take the hood off and get a Radio XR15w with tank mount best upgrade i've done for my biocube Link to comment
rathos
nano box reef retro. No soldering. I was able to install it no issues and I shock myself when I plug in appliances. If you are like me you went with a biocube so everything would be enclosed/sealed and don't want to run topless. I am also using an aquatic life 115 skimmer that works pretty well if you are looking for one that fits in the rear chamber with the lid closed. Link to comment

But I'm like you when it come to anything electrical. I sent my hood in and Dave did all the work! Can't get any simpler than that! Link to comment
LongDoggy
RapidLED was all plugs and no solder. Took about four hours to complete. It's a little DIY but not rocketscience. Will end up your cheaper high end led solution. I've had a positive experience with their product, shipment, support and features/capabilities. Successfully keeps sps, Lps, softies and a clam. zip651
Here's what I did with the new AI Prime LED. Took some measurements and had glass cut at the hardware store. Wish I woulda thought of this years ago. Link to comment

SgtBhaji
Thanks for the great ideas guys! I like those rapid leds! If you're still undecided on the upgrade, I can recommend the Nano Box retro kit. I just installed one this weekend and the only tricky bit is cutting a hole in the reflector for the fan, and that's not too much of a headache with a dremmel though. Everything else is super easy. No need to drill the hood. Link to comment
DefStatic
I added a couple of Ecoxotic Panoramic Pros. And one stunner. Might add another stunner. As simple as screwing them into the existing screw holes. Link to comment
Van Schwank
I was looking at doing this myself, and rapidLED seems like a good choice Link to comment
