I have a 20 long right now I'm using as a temporary tank with about 5-10 pounds of live rock, and I just set up my actual tank I'm going to be using its a 42 cadlights, and I was wondering if I need to let the tank cycle or can I just add the water thats in the 20 long with the rock to the 42 plus another 20 gallons of water and 40 pounds of sands and be safe. I will be putting my rocks in sometime next week when the come in via FEDEX. THANKS !

You should be able to just transfer everything. The bioload and bio filtration in your tank are staying the nearly same from one to the other. You lose the bacteria that's on the glass but that's pretty much it. The majority of it is in the sand bed and on the rock. The only thing I would worry about is stirring up gunk in the sand bed when you move it. Just make sure to test your water daily after the move to be sure the parameters are all good.

Still the same. The majority of the bacteria is on the live rock and you'll have some bacteria loss since there is some on the glass. Either way, toss it in and test just to be sure. I wouldn't go adding anything extra to the bioload but you should be fine.
