DurocShark
Found this guy in my tank. I saw him on the surface once, then never again until today. I didn't think chitons dug in the sand bed, but this one does. It has the segmented brown speckled shell, though I didn't get a pic of it when it was out. Normal? Link to comment
amphipod
Yeah, he's just getting to the algae you don't normally see beneath the sand, its not uncommon behavior for them, many snails also will go under fine sand for algae. Link to comment
DurocShark
I have a bigger dark snail that digs serious tunnels in the sand. Blew my mind the first time I caught him. He needs to do more on TOP of the sand, darn it! Having a bloom right now and I could really use his help. lol Link to comment
amphipod
That baby bloom should be gone soon Believe it or not there is tons of detritus and algae down in the sand being a giant free buffet for anybody who dares to enter Link to comment
DurocShark
Yeah, I'm not worried. The fact that it took so long to come I'm taking as a good sign. Link to comment
