RedSea Reefer 170 vs CAD Artisan 50g

Hey NR, I was considering buying either of these two tanks in the future. I like that they both look very clean!

First is the CAD Lights Artisan II 50g: 1,150$

Or the Red Sea Reefer 170: expecting 850$ according to reefbuilders.

While there is a big price difference, the reefer doesn't come with a return pump or a protein skimmer, so at the end of the day the price difference will probably be negligible. Also the CAD is a bigger tank but the Reefer has some really cool features!

Help me out! Any advice would be appreciated!

According to the Red Sea site, their tank is 34g. So the size differs. I do like how stylish it is in comparison to the Cadlights tank. I would say between these two:

Cadlights because you get more gallons for the cost. You will eventually want more room.

But if gallons did not matter, I would say Red Sea because of its customer service and aquarium style.

An alternative you might can consider would be SCA. Pretty much the same as Cadlights but pricing differs. Go to Amazon and look up SCA 50G. If you are interested, I would suggest calling SCAquariums see if they have any specials going on in which most cases you will get a better deal.

Either way, good luck with you future tank!
