Maniu
Pics could help. Could be number of things (sponge, hydroids, die offs etc) Can't really tell from this picture. Is it moving or reacting to touch? Link to comment

jlangtree
Just going by "Potato Cam" I am leaning towards a Sponge. Is it squishy? Link to comment

Maniu
It looks kind of translucent. Could be a sponge. I have my share of unidentified creatures in my tank. But if it doesn't seem to harm anything, I just leave it alone. Keep an eye on it tho. Not really sure what it is. Sorry. Link to comment

If it is growing and reacts to touch it is definitely alive. It will be interesting to see what it turns out to be. Link to comment

FlowerMama
Sounds/looks like a harmless sponge that'll help clean the water. Leave it be. Link to comment
