camps23
So I have gone 70g - 90g - 140g - 50gcube over the last 6 or so years. I moved a year and a half ago and have sold the 50g cube then. We are finally all settled in and Im ready to dip my toes back into reefing. This time Im trying to keep it simple as possible. Work and young kids take most of my time but I miss having a tank. I decided to do an AIO tank this time due to me wanting to place the tank in the living room. I dont have the funds to start a full build from scratch like I have in the past. I decided to buy a system of local reefers. I have narrowed it down to 3 tanks and I figured all you AIO tank owners on here can help me make my decision. 1) 29g oceanic biocube hqi -maxspect razor led fixture -mj 1200 return -koralia nano powerhead -aquatic life 115 protein skimmer *No stand 2) 38g Current solana low e glass and stand - return pump - ATO - Tunze skimmer *No light fixture 3) 38g Innovative marine nuvo 38g and stand - all factory filters - Ecotech radion G2 Led fixture - IM mid size skimmer - stock return pump Price from high to low is #3 , #2, #1 Im leaning towards #3 but dont know how many people with these setups and have to convince wife on the more expensive setup. All the setup is lacking though is an ATO Please give me suggestions on each setup... Thanks in advance Link to comment
Smithjm5
I'd probably go with #3 just because it has everything, but the solona tanks are realllly nice as well. I guess you'll have to decide if you want to spend the money on the extra equipment compared to #3 Link to comment
camps23
The difference in price between the solana and the innovative marine is 50$ and the solana doesnt even come with a light fixture. Not sure how good the Ecotech radion G2 Led fixture that comes with the Innovative Marine is...I know its older Link to comment

Not sure how good the Ecotech radion G2 Led fixture that comes with the Innovative Marine is...I know its older I know it doesn't come with one that's why I was saying is the $50 cheaper worth it if you have to buy a $400+ light for the solona...The G2 radion's are still really good lights. camps23
Ya its hard for me to justify having to spend an extra 350 on a light after getting the Solana. The tanks look similar except the solana has the low e glass and the nuvo 38 doesnt. Anyone have any opinions how the rear chambers compare on each ? Are both user friendly ? Link to comment
camps23
Well I decided on the Nuvo mini 38. I pick it up this Saturday. Cant wait to start this build Link to comment

Ahanix
Got here super late, but glad you made that decision. I was going to say just for the back chamber space it is worth it - I had a solana and it was pretty rough not being able to fit a decent skimmer or a reactor in the back. Link to comment
camps23
Ya I really like the clean lines of the tank. This is going in our main living room so estetics were important. Excited to get away from large tanks. Small water changes make me happy lol Link to comment
