crusoe
Hey guys, Recently rescaped a little and noticed these white tubes, about 2 inches long, clinging on to the live rock and the sand - any ideas what they are? Anything to be concerned about? Thanks! Link to comment
amphipod
Get more light in the pic please Link to comment
ndrobey
Check them at night, about an hour after the lights are out, as they are probably nocturnal. Link to comment
crusoe
Check them for what at night? Currently, they've retracted back into the live rock - still about half an inch showing. Day lights still on. I just took two consecutive pictures for comparison. First is without flash and the worm is about half an inch exposed. Second is with flash - you can see it's fully retracted. As soon as the flash went off it darted back into the live rock with lightening speed. Link to comment
ndrobey
Look for tentacles at night. Link to comment
crusoe
There are currently two of these, coming out at two separate locations on the live rock. Is that what you're refering to as tentacles? Link to comment
amphipod
Peanut worms? Also what's that dark thing to the right of the worm? Link to comment
crusoe
I think you're right, amphipod, definitely leaning towards peanut worms. They are quite active now, pecking away at the sandbed. As for the purple thing, not too sure - some type of growth Link to comment
Halo_003
Possibly hair worms too I guess. NVM, looking again must be peanut worms. Link to comment
