Hey guys,

Recently rescaped a little and noticed these white tubes, about 2 inches long, clinging on to the live rock and the sand - any ideas what they are? Anything to be concerned about?

Thanks!

Check them for what at night?

Currently, they've retracted back into the live rock - still about half an inch showing. Day lights still on.

I just took two consecutive pictures for comparison. First is without flash and the worm is about half an inch exposed. Second is with flash - you can see it's fully retracted. As soon as the flash went off it darted back into the live rock with lightening speed.

I think you're right, amphipod, definitely leaning towards peanut worms. They are quite active now, pecking away at the sandbed.

As for the purple thing, not too sure - some type of growth :P
