Too much Rock?

It's a little hard to tell based on the angle... distorts the perspective quite a bit. Even though you might get some reflections I think it might be best to get a front and side shot separately. Maybe shoot in the dark to reduce reflections?

IMO from the look of it though I would say that it looks cool as it is but not a ton of room for growth. But it depends on what you are going for with this tank. If you're looking to grow out a bunch of corals then I think you'll run out of space quick. If all you want are some polyps and mushrooms and stuff then you will probably be alright.

As a rule of thumb I keep my rocks 1.5" minimum from the glass all around - this makes it a ton easier to clean with a mag scraper and also makes it easier to maneuver things like feeders, nets, and my hand if I need to grab something.

this is more personal opinion than anything else.

if your going for say paly/zoa or shrooms then you'll need less room than for some species of lps and most if not all sps

Partially Submerged

Agreed. Going to be more of a softie tank. You don't have much of the precious real estate just below the surface that is so great for SPS. But the rock looks awesome. I think this will make a very cool scape.

I also like it, but second the recommendation about making sure you have enough room to get an algae scraper in there all around.

I need to adjust and accomodate this in my scape. Good point.
