LilCope
So reef energy says it will not alter nitrates or phosphates when dosing. Has anyone experienced otherwise? I dosed the recommended amount daily and when i took a nitrate reading 2 weeks later nitrates were around 40ppm with red cyano outbreaks. However in my 10gallon system this could have been caused by a dead snail or similar. -have you had any algae problems due to reef energy? -how long do you wait to do water changes after dosing reef energy?other than that, corals respond REALLY well to this product Link to comment
seabass
Even though you are using the recommended dosage, changes to nutrient levels might be a sign of over dosing. According to the BRS website, "fluctuations in nitrate and phosphate levels as wells as the development of bio-film on rocks or an algae breakout are signs that dosing changes may be necessary." I would monitor phosphate (with a good low range kit) as well. I would probably do water changes prior to dosing. Link to comment
