Can I add corals and inverts to a fallow tank?

So I've had horrendous luck with my new tank. Well actually, I've had crappy luck with fish. My Blue Reef Chromis had fungus when I got him, my Clownfish has internal parasites and now I'm seeing signs of ich! I'm planning on giving these fish away to whoever has a quarantine tank in my local area and would want to attempt to save these fish. If I had the money, I would treat them myself. Once I find someone who is willing to take my fish, I'll keep my tank fallow until April just to make sure any signs of disease are gone.

 

I will be setting up a quarantine tank when I get back to working again so I dont end up in such a bad situation again. Would it be safe to add corals and inverts throughout the fallow period? I just want to know whether or not corals and inverts can carry the ich parasite. P.S any form of livestock going into my tank will be quarantined for a minimum of 30 days.

The best time would be to add a cleaner shrimp because they can digest parasites actually is what they are meant for to make fish happy. The corals wouldn't be hurt even adding a anemone to make your clownfish happy.

yes you can add them independent of ich issues

Thanks for the advice! Good and bad news (possibly just bad news) my Clownfish passed away only a couple of hours after I started this thread. I'm now 100% sure that my tank has an Ich infection. My Yellow Tang was completely covered in white spots for less than a week, the chromis only had a couple of spots which are also gone. I know that the disease is still present in the system. But my fish aren't showing any symptoms of discomfort so hopefully they've built up an immunity of some sort. I've read on another forum that if the fish build up an immunity to Ich, the parasite will die off over time due to the fact that it doesnt have a fish to feed off (even though the tanks not fallow) I don't know whether or not it's a myth, but I sure hope that it's true. I've been feeding my fish NLS Thera A+ exclusively which I believe helped them combat the disease.
