Puppy-proofing main electrical cord?

Hi guys,

My main cord has about a 1ft distance to travel to the nearest electrical socket. I have a puppy and I dont want her to eat it and get electricuted, or shut down my tank while I am away.

What are some ideas to cover it up or ensure that she cannot chew it?

A short length of flexible metal conduit should work, though you would have to make a splice in the cord.

Alternatively a plastic spiral cord wrap would probably do it... At least delay breaking through to the cord.

coat with cayenne pepper

Doesn't work for every dog. I covered double sided tape with cayenne to keep my beagle puppy from chewing the seam in the carpet at my last place and it worked for 3 seconds, then she went down the entire piece of tape licking up the cayenne pepper... Then again, we tried the lemon thing and she ate that too...

Just put something heavy in front of it and when you are home yell at the dog every time it goes near the back of your fish tank and reward it when it goes by the fish tank, but avoids the back.
