NStai
Hi all, I have a 6g fluval edge reef that I'm slowly building - right now I have a small zoa colony and just added a very small hammer coral. I'm looking to mostly add more zoa's and mushrooms, perhaps a few more small LPS. My general question is, do you add additives to your tank? If so, what brands, additives do you recommend? I was looking into "essential elements" and "iodine" additives. I perform a 20% WC weekly with RODI water and Instant Ocean Salt (I'll "upgrade" to Instant Ocean Reef Crystals when my current bag runs out). Thanks in advance for the information! Link to comment
sean1986
in my opinion in a tank that small doing water changes is your best bet. need to be really careful dosing on a tank that small. it has been awhile since iv had a tank that small so maybe someone can chime in that has something that small. ninjamyst
no need to dose in such early stage of the tank, especially when you dont have much corals in it yet. Link to comment

AdamNC
Only dose when your tests tell you your levels are too low. Link to comment
ManGups
Most small tanks will do with WC. Until you a tank loaded with corals which need more that what water changes can replinish, you donot need supplements. Infact it is still easier to to do water changes of needed than dose since u dose wrong and u can mess up the levels. Essentially what u aim for is stability. Link to comment
