Also my tank is new and my lfs recommended I start with a yellow tail damsel. They said its a cheap fish thatll be good for ensuring my tanks water is ready for other more expensive fish. Shpuld Should I have any issues with the yellow tail damsel? Link to comment

If they get disturbed or bumped or poked they will release spores and they will start to multiply very quickly in a tank and take over. if you get corals and they pop up next to corals they will stink your nice new frags and possibly kill them if not caught quickly. Shpuld Should I have any issues with the yellow tail damsel? Adding a yellowtail would be a bad idea. While hardy, they are territorial and may beat up/kill anything you add afterwards. You will want to catch it and return it before adding other fish. Link to comment
Deleted User 8 Posted October 21, 2014 Share Posted October 21, 2014 Yeah the old you must put a hardy fish in there to cycle the tank business. It isn't necessary and sucks for the fish. I'd return it. Aptasia sucks. Get rid of it. I suggest cooking the rock. Dark bucket in saltwater with heater and power head for flow. Do a search for particulars. Oh, and find another LFS.
