First free piece of advice, take a few months to plan what you are going to do first (especially if you want a mixed tank with fish). Don't go crazy and spend a bunch of money on things just yet--unless on things like books and magazine subscriptions. Go slow. I know it is hard, but going fast in this hobby is just too hard.
