Hello,

I am new to the forum. We have had this tank up and running since 7/23. We have been takin git very slow. The tank seems healthy. This growth has started in the past 2 weeks or so. It appears to be a gold bubble of some sort. After looking through all sorts of ID forums I am thinking it may be a sponge but I have yet to see a gold sponge online. Could someone tell me what this is? It is stationary and directly in front of the flow from the sump on a piece of liverock.

Hard to tell but it could be a piece of Leather Coral

Doesn't look like one but there's so many varieties it definitely could be. I would be more inclined to say it's some sort of tunicate before a sponge, but some coral would be my first guess. Is there any opening in it?

It does not have an opening that I can see. It is getting bigger everyday. It has a green tube-like thing coming out of it. You can see it in the pictures above. I am going to try to get a better picture. I looked up tunicates, it does look similar to a juvenile tunicate although I still can't find any organism that is gold.
