do I need to have a sump to run this? Or can it drip into the tank directly?

can some one tell me if there is a difference between a food grade Co2 and a paintball Co2?

This unit would be external. You still need a pump to feed it (a very slow pump, think just a few gallons per hour turnover) along with CO2 input.

I think this is actually internal? It looks (and I obviously could be wrong and probably am) that the whole thing goes into the tank, then the pump pulls in water, pushes it into the reactor core and then out through the white tube?

Edit: Nevermind - I see it now. I was wrong.

The reactor can be used internally or externally. With a footprint of 7.1" x 4.2", it will be too large to fit inside the BioCube, Nuvo 16 and most all-in-one style aquariums.

Gravity feed, or a feeding pump is required. The AquaLifter pump is great for these applications.

It is difficult to see from the side profile, but the top of the lid has one port for water inlet and one port for effluent water outlet.

As with CO2, food or medical grade is typically cleaner (lower in dust) than paintball and industrial grade CO2.

If you have any other questions, please let us know.

you will need Co2 tank, gauges, solenoid and Ph controller So another 350 bucks plus the 149.00 for the reactor to use this on a tank.

Looks sharp! When the time comes to worry about calcium and alkalinity in my new tank I may consider one of these. Something that is "set it and forget it" would be very appealing to me.
