What happends if the router dies or connection fails?

Got my controller but what happends if the router dies or the net connection goes down if you have weather data activated? Also do the app need to be running on the ipad (in this case) for it to work? It goes with me when I travel. So if the router dies does the controller fail to start the lights?

If it loses connection, it just carries on with the data it has until can reestablish, at which point all the lights turn off for a second and then back to normal.

If there is a wi-fi connection failure, the controller continues to operate normally. You won't be able to use the app for the controller until the internet connection is restored. Once wi-fi is available again, the controller will connect automatically. The app is not required to be running for the controller to work, it's just the user interface.

Wonderful news! Another question, will be using this buckdriver

http://www.allegromicro.com/en/Products/Regulators-And-Lighting/LED-Drivers-For-Lighting/A6211.aspx

Looking in the userinterface enabling meanwells ldd drivers it says i need to switch to 5V inside the box using the bridge. Do i need to do the same for the above mentioned buckdriver? Cant find anything about the signal it should get more than the fact that it supports PWM via direct logic input pulse (whatever that is)...

And another thing that would be nice in the interface would be some kind of confirmation that the unit is up and running. Maybe show its time and that they are communicating properly. Each time i go into settings it starts at the first time in the list and this also gives the feeling of unreliability for me, did it get the right time? No way to tell... Hope you understand what i mean.

Thanks the the answers !!!

I didn't look at it too much, but as long as it takes a 5v/10v PWM signal then it'll be ok. More than likely it takes 5v.

If the app opens, then it has a connection and everything is ok. If wifi is down, etc, to the controller, then the app will not connect.

So say the wifi goes out during a cloudy period. Will it be stuck at that setting or will it default to normal percent settings set?

It'll stay at whatever the current setting is.

Hey Fissure funny seeing you around these parts. You doing the planted tank with the Vero right? If the drivers you are getting are from O2Surplus then they are PWM.

Hi gus ! Yeah im goinh with o2surplus driver boards. I know they are supposed to get a pwm signal. Just confused if they are to get a 10 or 5 volt signal :S

Are they the LDD clones or the all in one 5ch board with SCW?

Should your app also work direct without Internet connection (if internet connection is broken but the local wifi connection should work)

Sorry I missed this! An internet connection on the local network is required for communication between app and controller.
