My review of the Nano Box Mini Tide

I know y'all have seen plenty of reviews on this light, and here is one more. I wanted to show the before and after on my little 8g tank.

I went from a Par30 bulb to the Mini Tide....and what a difference! A picture is worth a thousand words.....

Before (par30)

After (NB Mini Tide)

As you can see, I had so many shadows with the par30 bulb. Now, every inch is illuminated with the Mini Tide. This has been set up for about a week and all corals are acclimating fine and responding beautifully. I used the settings that came with the fixture. I figure Dave knows best and understands what is safe for initial use. Perhaps I'll try raising the intensity gradually if I find my tank can handle that, iF it even needs that.

Already I can see one of my SPS acros color shifting to a more intense red from pale pink and its only been a week.

This unit is a breeze to set up. I'm a bit mechanically challenged and I was only confused for about 15 minutes LOL. Read the instructions Dave sends. All the answers are in there. Remember the "long press". This is where you get into programming everything :).

I have to admit I'm not a lighting expert and the "hook" for me with this light was being able to customize the casing on the light! I think Dave could do anything your heart desires. I chose a black and white polka dot pattern.....something fun.

It's a quality piece of equipment and something I intend to keep and use forever. Thanks again Dave!

Thanks guys!!!! :)

Out of curiosity, what PAR30 lamp were you using?

That's a Coral Compulsion Par30. I thought I loved it...but didn't know true love till I found Dave's Mini Tide

Glad to see you are happy with the light. Great spectrum, adjustability, spread, housing customization and constructed in the USA...what's not to like! :)

If I wasn't such a DIY'er, this would be my light of choice

Exactly! :)

The change in appearance of the tank is clear, the shadow areas no longer exist, keep us updated on the health of corals.

I will definitely update on coral health. So far I'm seeing a lot of positives. Even my macro is growing more. I had string of pearls that was doing nothing, but has noticeably grown since putting this light on the tank :).

Awesome tank! Dave does great work....Just what you need a great product for a good price that WORKS.

And he's a fellow nano-reefer :grouphug:

Yep...so many positives :).
