CurtBoswell Posted August 28, 2014 Share Posted August 28, 2014 So I don't have anything in my tank yet but I was definitely looking at stocking my refugium too. I have a lot of dry rock in there. I plan on adding chaeto and pods. I was thinking maybe a couple of hermit crabs. What would be some interesting ones? What else would be good? I don't have any sand in there. Maybe I could add some? What would be fine with a bare bottom tank? Any shrimp? Thanks in advance! Link to comment

jservedio Posted August 29, 2014 Share Posted August 29, 2014 My refuge is about 3 gallons. Yeah, with just 3 gallons I would only add a ball of chaeto - pods will naturally establish themselves. Unless you have live rock and/or a sandbed in your fuge, your hermits are just going to starve in there. Hermits are foragers and without sand or rock to scavenge food from, they will likely starve if the fuge is clean. Link to comment
