Zrial0509
I have this yellow tailed damsel in an established 20g long mixed reef and I want to get some other fish for the tank, except I know how damsels can be and don't want him to kill the fish I am going to add. I am kind of attached to this fish (bad thing I know) and don't want to trade him in... I was thinking maybe a dottyback could hold its own against him and maybe a clown too to distribute the aggression? I was planning on rescaping when I add the new fish so they could establish themselves more. Link to comment
atrox
The spawn of satan fish, or the demon summoner wrasse would work. Link to comment
joy13
I have had a blue devil for about 5 years it was in with a lemon peel. I finally had to break down the tank because it was leaking. I put it in a tank by itself for about 3 months, added an anemone after it was settled in a tomato clown fish that was getting aggressive, then a dottyback a few days later.. It really depends on the fishes personality. My blue devil is very laid back compared to my tomato clown in the tank. The dottyback just cruises around the tank without a care. I put in all the other fish while the tank was dark. I did have some type of damsel in the tank with the blue devil but it ripped her tail up so it turned into a sump creature. Here is a short video to show the clown is the aggressive one in the tank Link to comment
Toybuddha
I have a yellow tail damsel in my 20 long with a six line and a tailspot blenny. The yellow tail was the last fish added though. He can be defensive about his little area some times, but neither of the two other fish will be pushed around. I've even seen the blenny buck up to him. So far it's just occasional posturing.
