Weird Algae Help

So I have an IM Nuvo 16g, and currently trying to identify and get rid of some algae.

I do weekly water changes of 2.5g, and also have a protein skimmer. However, my old protein skimmer broke, so I was skimmerless for about 2 months.

I measured my parameters yesterday and everything was undetectable, except ph, which was .04ppm.

There is no other algae outbreaks. This particular algae grows on the top of a rock closest to the light, and it's covering a monti. There are also a couple other corals that are glued to the rock which is why I haven't scrubbed it.

Anyway, here is a picture. It doesn't seem to be growing since I got my new skimmer. The strands are a reddish/purple color, and 1.5" long, and VERY tough. I can't pull it.

Tank is about 13 months old.

If your pH is 0.4 ppm...we really gotta talk.

Does look like red turf to me as well.

.04

What eats it? I tried starving it out for a couple days but it didn't do anything.

Typo on my part.

pH is NOT measured in ppm, but in a log scale of H+ ion concentration in water. You really should read the insert on your test kit to get this straight. Having said that, I pay very little attention to pH.

Dunno what eats it, but you might want to read the threads on using peroxide and/or kalk paste with peroxide to eradicate different algaes.

Lol, yea my bad.

I am going just take the corals off the rock, remove the rock, and cook it.. From what I read [about red turf] it's tough to get rid of.
