QT/Hospital Tank Question

Recently, I've started setting up a 5g tank for use as a QT/Hospital tank. However, space is at a premium where I live, and I don't add new critters to the aquarium terribly often. If I could get some additional use out of the tank when I'm not QT'ing a new arrival, I would be thrilled. Would it completely defeat the purpose of the QT tank if I were to grow some softie frags (cespitularia, zoas) in the tank as well? Other than the obvious, "No using copper-based medications," that is.

You would have a QT tank, but it wouldn't double as a hospital tank. That's alright until the fish needs non-reef safe medication. You should really QT your corals as well, so this little tank might serve a real purpose. Although you might have to resort to a 5 gallon bucket as a hospital tank.
