BilgePump
So I have an R/O system with a pressure tank and an auto shutoff. I read somewhere that the pressure switch that came with my booster pump will replace the current shutoff mechanism, but I am unclear as how exactly to go about rigging it. Any help would be much appreciated. Link to comment
AZDesertRat
Here is one possible scenario: http://spectrapure.com/huds/NEW-BPK-PS-DI-DWK.pdf Here is Spectrapure's installation manual. You will probably use the directions on page 9 and the diagram in Figure 3 and replace your ASOV with the pressure switch or a solenoid valve. http://spectrapure.com/manuals/BOOSTER-PUMPS.pdf Here are troubleshooting instructions from AquaTec with a couple more diagrams. You may not have all the options shown but should get the idea: http://www.aquatec.com/sg_userfiles/Trouble_Shooting_R.O._Boost_Pumps.pdf Link to comment

BilgePump
So do I need both a tank shutoff switch as well as the electronic shutoff valve (right before the pump) to replace the ASOV? Link to comment
AZDesertRat
According to page 9 of the Spectrapure manual they suggest keeping the ASOV if you do not use a solenoid valve, something has to stop the flow. Personally I use the solenoid valve on my system since I like a positive shutoff but it works either way. Link to comment
