Mpy
Salutations my reefing brethren, I am at a loss for trying to identify this anemone, I have crossed off most of the normal aquarium species, but I have only been at this a short while... It is either native or invasive to Florida and will pick spots with its foot attached to a rock in the sand, or in a rock crevice. It has a short tentacles that are white with a pinkish sheen to them at certain angles. It has an orangey-tan with dark spots foot. Any IDs or pointers in the right direction would be great. Amphiprion1
If it is from Florida/Gulf of Mexico, then maybe Bunodosoma cavernatum... another now unrecognized alias is B. cavernata. Link to comment
Mr. Microscope
Interesting. No positive ID, but I'd treat it like a rock nem. Link to comment
gulfsurfer101
I think amphirion1 is correct. I find those often in Texas as well. They are predatorial and will eat anything that can get thier sticky hands on but on a positive note, they rarely ever move once they find a spot to set thier foot in. I usually sump them. They do fine under low to no lighting and are most likely nps from my observations. Link to comment
