JerseyChick
A LFS is going out of business and had several serpent stars that were housed with a chocolate chip star. They are no larger than 3 inches full tip to tip and only one is whole. I brought them home last week to allow them to regenerate and they already have atleast 2mm of a little point at the eaten off arms.(3 arms are eaten on 3 one to the disc) I am hoping to allow them to regenerate fully then will probably need suitable homes that don't include chocolate chip stars... They are also eating mysid shrimp like mad (I turn the power heads off so some sink and stay) SAD that a LFS is so uneducated that their creatures were housed by characteristics rather than need demand and these guys got eaten... ) No wonder they went out ~ the inventory ate each other (The gave me the 4 for $15 so it's a life saved but if you are in NJ and want one in the future let me know...) They had mentioned if they didn't get rid of them they'd throw them out half alive... I was like just give me the guys you got, I'll let them heal Link to comment
Ibuyen
I had a three legged one for months now.. Sadly no arms have grown yet. But the starfish is fine. Link to comment
opaquelace
Nice! I have a harlequin serpent starfish I named Zombie because when it came in the legs had all fallen off and even the top portion of its body was missing. I figured I'd put it in the tank to see what would happen. If it died it would probably get pecked at and eaten by things. Well, it's now the same size as my other one and a voracious eater.
